The NHS does not cover all services provided at this practice. A fee may be payable in accordance with British Medical Association (BMA) guidance. Please note private letters are subject to a minimum charge of £30. This is in line with recommended rates for non-NHS work, and can take up to 28 days from the date of payment received by the practice. If the letter is required urgently, there will be a 25% surcharge.
Doctor’s Letter
You may require a doctor’s letter for various reasons e.g. fitness to travel or confirmation of medical conditions. There are some situations which may require further assessment and if so you may be asked to attend an appointment. If you agree with the conditions state above please complete and submit the Information form request below.
Although we will do our best to help please be aware completing this form does not guarantee that we will be able to assist with a letter. Each request will be considered individually and is at the discretion of your GP.
If you are pregnant and require a doctor’s letter as proof of ‘permission to travel’ please be aware that many airlines require your doctor’s letter to be signed within 48 hours of international travel.
Please note that you will not be provided with a doctor’s ‘permission to travel’ letter if you are due in less than 30 days or if your pregnancy is considered high-risk.
What happen Next?
Once you have submitted your request, a staff member will contact and advise you the fee due to paid, any form that need to be completed by the Doctor must be brought to reception too, preferable at the same time the payment.is completed.
